CHRISTIE

Hi! My name is Christie and I am a Boxer mix. I am approximately 1-2 years old and am very loving. Boxers are high energy dogs that love to play. I would do best as part of a family where I would get daily walks (possibly even runs) once or twice a day and someone to play with me. I love to play fetch, swim and run around the back yard. If you let me, I will be your best friend. I am not the type of dog who will do well left alone in an apartment or where I am expected to lie around all day. I need to play and be played with.

I am currently being trained by a CPDT (Certified Professional Dog Trainer). My trainer is teaching me things such as how to pause and not run outside until given the command. Because not much is known about my previous life and because of my high energy, my foster took me to a veterinarian behaviorist for an evaluation. My trainer, in consultation with the behaviorist, is helping me to learn a few manners. It is recommended that I not be adopted by a family with children under 12 years of age or by an elderly couple.

I am spirited and happy all the time- and sometimes, get excited to see people I know and I may jump up, until told to sit. My trainer will continue my work with whoever adopts me. My foster took me to her vet for a check-up and was told that all is good. I have had complete blood work and urinalysis.
